Angel Stories

“My Guardian Angel”

July 16, 2004, my sister’s life was changed instantly when she suffered a brain aneurysm at the age of forty-nine.  Our family prayed and waited for my sister to recover.   I was struggling to cope with the sadness and worry of losing my only sister.

One night, I awoke from a deep sleep to see my precious grandmother, Nanie Beau, standing at the foot of my bed. My grandmother died many years ago. I know for sure that it was her.  As she smiled at me, her gold tooth sparkled.  I always admired her gold tooth.  She spoke in her same familiar voice and said, “Don’t worry dear; I will be with you through this”.

When I was a young girl, I always spent Sunday afternoon with my Nanie Beau.  She saved dimes for me.  She always gave me dimes for offering when I went church on Sunday evening with my parents.

During my grandmother’s senior years, I spent a lot of time with her.  She enjoyed my children and we had fun times together.  I always made sure she got to her hair appointments on time, always had enough groceries and I enjoyed cooking special treats for her.  Nanie Beau and I had a lunch date once a week.  My Nanie Beau lived with me for nearly a year before she was admitted to a nursing home.  She died shortly after that.

From the time Nanie Beau appeared in my bedroom, I started finding dimes everywhere and every day.  I find them in really strange places.  I shared my story with my husband and now when he or I find a dime, we know that Nanie Beau is still with me.  It is rare for a day to pass by that I don’t find at least one dime.

Although my sister passed away October 2009, my Nanie Beau continues to send me dimes. My grandmother and my sister probably smile each time I pick up my dime.
